Green Star timber credits
AFS/PEFC and FSC timber are now treated equally with regards to Green Star timber credits (refer media release by Green Building Council of Australia). As plywood produced by Austral Plywoods is AFS/PEFC certified, you may be able to claim Green Star credits when using our products.

Austral Plywoods receives Con Otto Award
Austral Plywoods was proud to be the recipient of the 2009 Con Otto Award in relation to the Melbourne Recital Centre project. The Con Otto Award is an award for excellence presented annually by the Engineered Wood Panels Association of Australasia.

Super E0 certification
Austral Plywoods is pleased to announce Super E0 certification for our A Bond products. Super E0 is the lowest formaldehyde emission rating, equivalent to a maximum of 0.3mg/L. View certificate.

Melbourne Recital Centre
The new Melbourne Recital Centre is a 1000 seat $75m auditorium designed to be acoustically perfect. The walls and ceilings are lined with Austral Plywoods "A" grade Hoop Pine plywood, specifically chosen for its acoustic and aesthetic properties. The inside of the auditorium is quite amazing, "like walking around inside a well crafted musical instrument". Chain of Custody
The Austral Plywoods product range has achieved Chain of Custody certification under AS 4707:2006. Chain of Custody is an environmental certification system that ensures that there is an unbroken chain from a certified, sustainable forest, right through to the customer. It ensures that all resource is from legal and known origins, and that there is traceability of all resource inputs.

Low Formaldehyde Emissions
Recent changes to Australian Standards 2271:2004 and 2269:2004 require that the formaldehyde emission class be branded onto the plywood panel. Our brand stamps have been updated to include this information. Currently, our A Bond (Marine, Exterior, Structural) and C Bond (Interior) products have an E0 rating, the lowest emission rating obtainable.
