Mon Repos Turtle Centre
When designing the Mon Repos Turtle Centre at Bundaberg Queensland, Kirk Architects emphasized the importance of locally sourced and manufactured timber products. Sustainability was another key requirement for the project. Austral Plywoods was able to meet these needs with our prefinished ariaply (in Ebony and Natural Hoop), supplied with the Responsible Wood environmental certification. The ceiling is particularly spectacular, consisting of custom perforated triangles of ariaply, designed to resemble a turtle carapace.
