Austral Premium AC (Interior) is manufactured to AS 2270 and is intended for use in non-structural, interior applications where a high quality aesthetic finish is required. Typical applications include internal wall panelling, furniture and fitments, interior door skins and ceiling linings. Interior plywood must not be used in exposed, wet or damp conditions.
Hoop pine plywood has become very popular in commercial applications where the natural warmth of hoop pine is combined with the acoustic properties of panel perforations. Sizes and thicknesses for this product: 2400x1200 and 2700x1200mm, in thicknesses of 6.5, 9, 12.5 and 16mm. More information.
Untreated Hoop Pine plywood is rated "Group 3", certified by CSIRO to AS/NZS 3837, complying to BCA requirements. See Fire Resistance for further details.
Bending plywood in Hoop pine is available for those hard to cover jobs such as internal pillars and curved reception areas. This product is available in 2400x1200mm panels in thicknesses of 1.5 and 3mm. More information.
Shopfitting is an application where the use of Hoop pine is increasing rapidly. It is easily worked with conventional wood working tools and, being assured of an "A" grade face can save costly time spent trying to improve a lower grade plywood.
A "Natural BB" option is available for our Interior Hoop Pine plywood where a more natural look is required. This option uses "B" face veneers, exhibiting wood grain characteristics to a greater degree.
If used as an interior wall or ceiling lining, we recommend Austral pre-finishing (click for more information).
Take care in free standing applications
Plywood is a natural product that can be affected by changes in ambient weather conditions, possibly causing previously flat sheets to bow. At Austral Plywoods all precautions are taken to ensure flatness at time of dispatch, however once the plywood has left our factory we cannot guarantee sheets to remain flat unless fastened. This is particularly important where free standing kitchen/cabinet doors are concerned.
